A furnished room at Heart to Heart Homes made up before move-in

Move-in day at a furnished shared home looks nothing like a normal move. There is no truck to rent and no boxes of kitchenware, because the house is already running. Here is what the day actually looks like at Heart to Heart Homes.

What is already done before you arrive?

Your room is furnished and made up, the utilities are on, the internet works, and a welcome hygiene kit with soap, toothpaste, towels, and the basics is sitting on your bed. Housekeeping has been through. You are walking into a finished room, not a project.

What should you bring?

  1. Clothes for the season, and a week of everyday wear
  2. Medications in their original containers, plus your pharmacy details
  3. Photo ID, benefit letters and any voucher paperwork
  4. Phone, charger and the numbers you call most
  5. The few personal things that make a room yours: photographs, a blanket, a book

Clothes, medications, documents, and the personal things that make a room feel like yours. Our move-in checklist covers the full list, including who to notify about your address change, from the Social Security Administration to the post office.

What happens the first week?

You settle in at your own pace. Housemates learn your name at the table, you learn where the washer is, and daily rhythms take over: shared meals, recreational games, and support services that come to the house instead of the other way around. Medication reminders start when you want them to.

Who do you call if something comes up?

Us, directly at (317) 669-8855, Monday to Friday 9 to 5 Eastern. Real people answer, which is the whole point of a place built on genuine connections. If you have not applied yet, the application takes minutes.
