Frequently asked questions
Our doors are open to veterans, seniors, independent and semi-independent adults, individuals with disabilities, people transitioning between housing or experiencing homelessness, and low-income individuals. The common thread is being able to manage daily life independently or with light support.
Rent depends on the home and whether you choose a private or semi-private room, so call (317) 669-8855 for current rates. Every rent includes the furnished room, all utilities, free internet, housekeeping, and washer and dryer access, which removes most of the bills you would pay living alone.
Yes. We accept SSI, SSDI, housing vouchers, and private pay. Many residents pay rent directly from a monthly SSI or SSDI deposit, and we help you set that up during the application call.
Complete the online application, which works on any phone or computer, or scan the QR code on our Apply page. You can also call (317) 669-8855 and we will walk you through it. Family members and case managers are welcome to apply on someone's behalf.
Yes. Every room comes with a bed, bedding, storage, and lighting already in place, and a welcome hygiene kit is waiting on the bed the day you move in. You bring clothes and personal items, not furniture.
A private room is yours alone. A semi-private room is shared with one housemate and is the more affordable option. Both include the same amenities and access to shared kitchen, living, and laundry spaces.
Yes, vouchers are one of our four accepted payment sources, alongside SSI, SSDI, and private pay. Tell us about your voucher during the application call so we can confirm the details for the home you want.
No. We provide supportive shared housing for independent and semi-independent adults, not licensed medical care. Home health, hospice, and other clinical services visit residents in our homes through outside providers, but someone who needs 24-hour skilled nursing is better served by a licensed facility.
Yes, veterans are one of the core groups we serve. Our homes offer a stable base, a respectful community, and visiting support services, and we accept the payment sources many veterans use, including vouchers.
All utilities are included, plus free internet, housekeeping, washer and dryer access, medication reminders, recreational activities, monthly food pantry trips, and a welcome hygiene kit. There are no separate utility bills to manage.
Yes. Every home is clean, safe, and drug free, and that standard protects all residents. Someone in active substance use who is not ready for a drug-free home would not be a good fit yet.
Home health, hospice, and home care agencies visit residents, along with a pharmacy that delivers, a mobile barber and stylist, a mobile podiatrist, pet and music therapy, and an in-house psychiatrist and nurse practitioner. Non-emergency transportation covers essential appointments and key errands.
Yes, and it happens all the time. Case managers, discharge planners, and veteran service officers submit the same online application as families do, noting themselves as the referring contact. Call first if you want to talk through fit before referring.
The online form itself takes minutes. After that, we review it, call you during business hours, and arrange a visit. How quickly you move in mostly depends on room availability, so applying early matters.
Yes, and we encourage it. Tour the home, meet the community, and see the actual room. Visits happen Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 Eastern, with weekend appointments available.
Our residential community is in Indianapolis, Indiana. For the privacy and safety of residents we do not publish street addresses, and we share the location during the application and visit process.
Clothes, personal items, medications, and important documents. The room is already furnished and a hygiene kit with the basics is included, so you do not need furniture, bedding, or a carload of supplies. Our move-in checklist has the full list.
Ask us. Semi-private rooms are shared by two people, and the right arrangement depends on the home and current availability, so call (317) 669-8855 and we will look at options together.
Homes share full kitchens, and residents shop and cook the way housemates do, supported by monthly group trips to community food banks and pantries. Shared meals are a big part of house life.
Quiet mornings, your own routine, and community when you want it. Residents share meals, play recreational games, join planned festivities, and head out together on monthly pantry trips. Support services come to the house around your schedule.
Yes, family and friends are welcome, coordinated with the house so every resident's home stays comfortable. Details on visiting hours are covered when you tour.
Yes. Non-emergency transportation to essential appointments and key errands is one of our core services, so missing a medical visit for lack of a ride should never happen here.
Visiting providers like home health and hospice can often expand care inside the home. If your needs grow beyond what supportive housing can safely provide, we help you and your family plan the next step honestly instead of letting things slide.
Requirements vary by home and situation, so ask during your application call. We keep move-in costs as simple as we keep the rent, and we tell you every number before you commit.
One rent instead of a stack of bills, a furnished room instead of moving trucks, and housemates instead of isolation. For many people on SSI, SSDI, or a fixed income, it is the difference between just getting by and actually living well.
Genuine connection is the whole model: real people, true care, and genuine connections, one heart to another. Add the practical layer, thirteen included amenities and eight visiting services, and the result is a home, not a bed in a house.
Still deciding? That is normal.
Call us and talk it through, or come see a home in person. No pressure, no scripts.
